The program will start at the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center, where our three presenters will talk about the flora, fauna and fungi native to the Mississippi Palisades State Park. The program will end with a walk of the Sentinel trail. this mile long trail through Sentinel Nature Preserve, leads upward through a north facing slope that begins with various ferns, interlaced with early spring blooms; meadow rue, bloodroot, wild ginger, Virginia bluebells and even the occasional yellow lady's slipper orchid.
